杨斯毅
针对学习者在英文学习群中经常需要用到的和表达有困难的语言部分,我根据冲击波英语群聊语料库 【IEGCC——Impact English Group Chat Corpus, 从2010年1月1日开始收集学生语言,并且进行语料库语段分析Corpus-assisted Discourse Analysis】制作了常用群聊句系列, 目的是帮助英语学习者在使用QQ群或者新浪群等网络社交工具聊天时能够按需求循环地使用地道的语言,并在此过程中逐渐达到——地道语言应用自动化的阶段。
群聊前的习惯养成建议:
养成良好的规范书写习惯,可以使用常见缩略语,如I’m=I am, I’ll = I will,cos / coz=because, gonna=going to, wanna=want to, 可以使用口语习惯句,因为群聊的实质是书写打出来的口语语体。但不要使用完全以读音辨认的手机语言如 I kinda b4 u.
尽管群聊具有口语的性质,学习者同时也应该利用该机会训练书面语表达,尤其是希望出国留学的同学,因此我提倡通过变化语体或者混合语体(即在口语中加入书面表达成分——如讲故事、书面辩论、报告新闻或者撰写经历等方式来提高书面表达。
每一个句子的首字母应该大写。
要严格注意标点符号的使用。
必须记录自己表达有困难的部分,通过询问或者查找方式获得地道说法。
在群聊前,做好话题的准备,在词汇、短语、语法和发音(很多群聊已经加入插入语音成分)方面认真做功课。
群聊后撰写日记,记录自己的聊天心得、所学新鲜词汇、短语、语法和发音等内容。
新鲜入群常用句
- I am new/a novice/an apprentice/a beginner/a neophyte/a freshman(常指大学一年级新生,这里取其比喻义)/a new recruit (这里指新成员,常指职场新手). I would appreciate any advice from you, dear (group) mates, about/on English learning. 我是新手,请多多指教。
- Certainly, we’re always happy to give advice when asked for it. 没问题,我们很乐意有问必帮。
2. My great pleasure. / Pleasure is all mine. 这真是我的荣幸。
3. I am very flattered by your invitation. 承蒙您的邀请,我倍感荣幸。
一般招呼句
4. -Hello! / Hi! / Hello there! / Hey! / 后接 How are you? / How’s it going? / How’s it been? / How’s everything? / How have you been? 你好啊,最近如何?【这是比较正式的用语】
注意:不太正式的(但没有错误的)群口语句如下:How you been? How’s tricks? What have you been up to? What’s new? What’s up?
注意:俚语用法如下——Wassup? Wusup? What’s happening? What’s going on?

-Fine. / I’m fine. / I’m cool. / Keeping cool. / Dandy! (主美=Very good!) / Fine and dandy! / Great. / Couldn’t be better. / Happy as a clam. (美国口头禅=Very happy!) / Can’t complain. / No complaints. / I have nothing to complain about. 我很好,没啥可抱怨的! / Getting by. / Been getting by. / Just so-so. / Just muddling through. 马马虎虎/勉强过活吧。/ Fair to middling. 不好不坏,稍微比平均水平好点。/ Same as always. / Same as usual. / Same old same old. 都那样呗。

与好久不见的朋友打招呼句
6. I haven’t seen you in years! / Long time no see! / I haven’t seen you in an age/ for ages! / I haven’t seen you in a month of Sundays! (=a long time) / Welcome back! 好久不见你了!欢迎回来!
询问对方最近干什么去了
7. -Where were you? / Where have you been? / Where did you go? / Where have you been (finding fun)? 你最近上哪混去了?
- Keeping busy. / Keeping myself busy. / Been keeping myself busy. 一直忙着呢! / Been keeping my hands/nose clean. 【意指安安分分生活着呢,没做什么违法犯罪之事喔】/ I’m swamped (=overwhelmed)【意指忙得不知所措,就像一只被逐渐淹没的沉船】. / I’m snowed under. 【意指忙得好像被被雪淹没一样】 / I’ve been running around with my head cut off. / I’ve been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. 【俚语用法,意指我忙的不可开交,忙得头都快要断了。】

8. He’s so modest / humble. 他很谦虚。You value yourself too low. 你太低估自己了。
9. What adds to / compounds my respect for you is that you’re so brilliant but self-effacing. 你如此才华横溢却不露锋芒。(efface oneself 使自己无足轻重,使自己不被人注意——这是一种让人轻松的处世哲学)
10. We have to work hard to comb out (梳理, 去除杂质) all the knots in English learning. Google pledges to comb out porn results in China. My suggestion is to comb out the lessons you’ve learned every day and note down what new things you get after reviewing. 我们应该尽力肃清英语学习中的困难。Goggle 承诺要清理在其中文搜索引擎中的黄色条目。我建议你们每天整理学过的课程内容,并且记录下复习后所获的新知识。
11. Live your dream. That shouldn't come too late if you hold it tight. 为你的梦想而奋斗吧!如果你把梦想抓得紧紧的,要把她实现应该不会太久。
12. Who would call you a college student if you haven’t ever flunked any papers? 不挂课怎么叫大学生呢?【戏谑语】
13. Very nice meeting and talking with you. 很高兴认识你!很高兴与你聊天!【一般在聊天结束后使用】
14. The telesthesia (心灵感应) between us told me that. 我们之间的心灵感应告诉我的。
15. A small pig’s standing in front of me, with an expression I can’t quite read. / If you like me to tell the key, that’s not something I know indeed. (绕口令)
16. I will gen you up on this later. 我迟点会把详细情况告诉你的。Okay, give me the gen on this project please. 请把这个项目的资料给我吧。(gen 作名词或者动词,意为“信息”或者“给予信息”)
17. He goes green / white about the gills. (to look pale with fear or sickness) 他脸色发青(苍白)。【一般因受惊吓或因病—gills是腮,一般指脸两边的下半部——两个“腮”的存在使 gill要在后面加-s,about 在…..的周围】
18. We need to tackle the problem head-on (without trying to avoid it). 我们需要正视某问题加以解决(不回避问题)。【Head-on—“头在上面”的接触足够“正视”的劲,如果一辆车与另一辆车产生了head-on式的碰撞,事情就大了,也就是车头直接对撞,伤亡如何可想而知】
19. We’re playing for the thrill! 我们玩的就是心跳!
20. Do you think you’re equal to the job / task? 你认为自己能胜任这一份工作 /这一项任务么?【Be equal to … 能胜任,能处理好,能应对某事】I don’t think they are equal to meeting our requirements. 我觉得他们不能达到我们的要求。【Equal to the occasion能应付局面、应付自如】
21. I know learning English is not an easy task, but if you rise to the challenge / occasion as occasion requires, you may reap what you deserve anyway. 我知道学习英文并不是一件容易的事情,但是如果你能面对挑战积极寻求解决办法,那你将终有所获。

24. You have an observing eye. 你真是好眼力劲啊! 【Observing注意观察的,对事物敏感的,一般用作定语;如果需要用表语形容词,则非observant莫属——善于观察的,机警的 】
25. I am honored by your visit. 对你的造访我深感荣幸。Will you honor me with a visit? 如蒙造访则荣幸之至。【Honor的意思是,“给某人以荣誉、表扬某人、向某人某事致敬”。常用于被动句中,非被动句型为Honor sth. / sb. with sth. else】
26. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You’re welcome down the top of my head. 由衷地感谢!由衷地别客气!(幽默对等)
27. That’s cool, pal! 太棒了,朋友!【pal, 常用作“朋友、老兄”, pen pal 笔友】
