——Utterly Difficult Routine Tasks
A: Hi, I heard that you guys offer Office English courses?
B: Yes, we do. Would you like to sign up for one of these?
A: Well, I’ve got to know what I can get from this course really.
B: Okay, let me get you the brochure first. Here we go…By studying this course, you will be able to learn a large office vocabulary, take telephone messages and practice writing and reading memos, emails and fax.
A: That’s awesome! I would like to sign up now.
A: Excuse me, I am new in your training center, and I am looking for the language lab.

B: Do you want the lab for practicing your spoken English or doing your interpretation training?
A: Well, is there any difference?
B: Yes, there is. We have different types of language labs to meet students’ needs. Take spoken English labs and interpreting labs for example; they have different databases of training materials.
A: All right, I want to get to a lab for spoken English then.
B: That’s easy. Go straight along this way to the end and take the lift down to the ground floor, turn right and go straight on until you see the room marked Lab 0.15 on your right.
B: Okay, I got it. Thank you.
A: You’re welcome.
A: Good morning, I have an appointment with Mr. Royd at 10am.
B: Okay, may I have your name please?
A: Sure, Grint is my last name, and Rupert my first name.
B: Thank you…All right, take a seat please and free to get some drink from the purified water machine if you like. Mr. Royd will be with you shortly.
A: It’s so kind of you, thank you.
A: Good morning, Sir. Can I help you?
B: Um, yes. I am Rod Smith from All-Star For You advertising agency. And I have an appointment with George Dollars at 11am. 嗯,好,我是All-Star For You 广告公司的Rod Smith, 我与George Dollars先生有约11点见面。
A: Right, Mr. Dollars is expecting you right now. Come this way, please.
B: Thank you so much.
A: No worries.
A: Hi, what can I do for you, sir?
B: Well…I noticed your ads about the English courses here, and I really want to make an appointment with a course advisor.
A: Okay, cos (because) you want to know more about the course, right?
B: Yes, definitely. I need to choose a course suitable for my level.
A: I see. That’s not a problem at all. I will arrange an appointment for you right now. May I have your full name, Sir?
B: Sure, Greg Jobs. Greg Jobs.
A: Thanks, Mr. Jobs, what about 3pm tomorrow with our advisor Rowley Faye?
B: That’s okay.
A: Fantastic, all done now, Mr. Jobs, I will see you tomorrow then.
B: Perfect! See you tomorrow.
